How it works
から has two main N5 meanings. After a noun it marks a starting point in space or time ('from'): 駅から, 九時から. After a clause (plain or polite form) it means 'because/since', stating a reason: 寒いから. It often pairs with まで ('from ... to ...').
「から」には主に二つの意味があります。名詞の後では空間・時間の起点(〜から)を示し(駅から、九時から)、文(普通体・丁寧体)の後では理由「〜だから/〜から」を表します(寒いから)。「〜から〜まで」の形でもよく使います。
Formation
Noun + から (from) / Clause(plain or polite) + から (because)

Notes
- 'From ... to ...' is 〜から〜まで (家から学校まで).「〜から〜まで」で「〜から〜まで」を表します(家から学校まで)。
- Reason から can follow です/ます forms (polite) as well as plain forms; ので is a softer reason connector.理由の「から」は丁寧体にも普通体にも付きます。柔らかい言い方は「ので」です。
- Don't confuse from-から (after a noun) with reason-から (after a verb/adjective clause).起点の「から」(名詞の後)と理由の「から」(節の後)を混同しないようにしましょう。
