JLPT N5 kanji

All 106 N5 kanji, in the order Kanji Fortress teaches them. Open one for its readings, stroke order, a mnemonic, a common word and example sentences.

N5 is the first level of the Japanese-Language Proficiency Test (JLPT). Its kanji are the ones beginners meet first: numbers, days and time, people, directions and the basic words of signs and textbooks. The JLPT has not published official kanji lists since 2010, so these levels follow the widely used lists by Jonathan Waller.

Learn them in groups of ten: the meaning, one reading and one word for each, then come back to the group a day later. The N5 study plan sets this out week by week.
